Identify your shop today

for repair shops, body shops, tire and mobile services, and dealerships · 23 October 2026

A driver asks an assistant where to get a timing belt done this week, and it answers with a name. It picks the shop whose page says the price and says it can take the car. Yours doesn't say either. Your parents' generation had the same morning once, when the shop either got a website or spent four years hearing I didn't know you were still open.

And here is what we found when we went looking for somebody to teach you this: nothing. Of thirteen trades we counted on 22 October 2026, automotive is the thinnest. No professional body issuing credit for it. No shop owner publishing about it. One generic engineering course priced in the thousands, and one technician webinar that ran in April and stopped. Six of the thirteen trades have neither a credentialed course nor anybody teaching — automotive is the emptiest of the six.

It is thinner than that in the software too. For the dealership side we could not find a single developer page published by one of the two biggest dealer-system vendors in America. Not a gated one. Not an empty one. None. And of three named tire-management products, zero have any developer surface at all.

So nobody is coming, and that is the whole of the opportunity. You are not behind. There is no queue. What has to happen is that your labour rate, your diagnostic fee, your turnaround on a common job and whether you take walk-ins get written down in plain sentences on something a machine can read — because right now a driver's assistant has nothing of yours to quote.

Do it today, while the trade is still empty. Being first costs exactly the same as being last, and today it buys more. Gala for your shop is where those sentences go. Bring one topic's worth about each of twelve things a driver needs before they'll leave a car with you — Findability, Qualifiability, Bookability, Predictability, Visibility, Automability, Memory, Continuity, Reachability, Countability, Answerability, Learnability — and you qualify. Then you answer the ninety questions yourself. Nobody speaks for your shop.

Measured 22 October 2026: trade bodies, training catalogues and vendor developer portals, each fetched with a control that had to resolve. Automotive returned the fewest findings of all thirteen trades.
