Identify your practice today

Somebody's dog is limping, they ask an assistant which vet to take him to, and it answers with a name. It picks the practice whose page says the consult fee and says it has something today. Yours doesn't say it. Your parents' generation had this morning once, and the practices that waited spent four years saying everyone knows where we are.

Veterinary medicine has a credentialed AI hour, it is free, and a software company paid for it. Measured 22 October 2026: a RACE-approved one-hour course, no charge, carrying in its own page's words "sponsorship by" a veterinary software vendor. That is not a scandal and it is not hidden. It is simply worth knowing who chose the curriculum — because a supplier that pays for the lesson teaches the part of the lesson that ends at its own product.

The free teaching outside that is thinner than it looks. The one channel calling itself the AI learning hub for veterinary professionals has fourteen videos in total, its most recent from 26 March 2026, and view counts between 0 and 94. From a search result it looks like an occupied field. From its own feed it is a field somebody left.

Meanwhile your trade quietly has the best-documented software in the whole inventory and not one connector anywhere. One cloud practice system publishes 80 documented resources across five million bytes of reference. Across twelve trades, veterinary is one of four with zero connectors — official or otherwise. The reference is excellent and nothing has been pointed at it.

So nobody is coming with your answers, because nobody else has them. Your consult fee. Your out-of-hours arrangement. Whether you see exotics. Whether you have anything today, and what an emergency costs at eleven at night. Those are the four questions every owner asks, and they live in your head and your phone system.

Write them down today. Gala for your practice is where an owner's assistant can read them. Bring one topic's worth about each of twelve things an owner needs before they bring the animal in — Findability, Qualifiability, Bookability, Predictability, Visibility, Automability, Memory, Continuity, Reachability, Countability, Answerability, Learnability — and you qualify. Then you answer the ninety questions yourself, and it stays your practice's voice.

Measured 22 October 2026: the course listing and its sponsorship line off the provider's own page; the channel's own upload feed against a fifteen-entry control, where fourteen entries is a whole catalogue; the vendor documentation fetched directly.
